It’s been said that New Year’s resolutions most often end up being a to-do list for the first couple of weeks in January. A temporary source of frustration, soon to be forgotten when reality yanks the rug out from under our best intentions. When the huge crowds in Times Square mark the dawn of a new year, it seems fitting that it is literally a crystal ball that drops. We gaze into the future, casting our hopes and dreams on the possibilities of a brand new year. In order to give it a little boost out of the gate we resolve to do this thing or that thing. When resolutions fizzle out, it usually boils down to one of two reasons. We become disillusioned or we lack discipline.
