In the clearing stands a boxer

This is a now familiar image of the events that happened at the US capitol building on January 6th, 2021. It is an image which reflects conflict and division, and I sincerely hope it will not cause anyone offense. The purpose I intend for the image is found in the three flags prominent in the foreground.

One is the flag of the Christian church. For centuries that flag has represented the organized church that Christ founded here on earth. It has served as the banner of our faith in all of it's denominations and beliefs.

Another flag is our nation's flag, the stars and stripes. It represents both the republic which embodies our ideals as Americans and the institution of our government. It has served as our banner in many roles ranging from identifying government buildings to leading our military forces into battle.
