“The main things are the plain things, and the plain things are the main things.” I have heard that phrase many times from many sources over the course of my life. If anyone deserves specific credit for bringing it into the modern day Christian dialogue it is probably Alistair Begg, pastor of Parkside church in the Cleveland Ohio area. In his sermons and his online ministry "Truth for Life" he has effectively used the phrase many times in his excellent expository bible study programs.
