Don’t Let Offense Put Out Your Fire

When I was a kid, one of my favorite comic book heroes was Johnny Storm, the Human Torch. I was captivated by his ability to transform into a blazing figure of fire, flying through the sky and saving the day. Johnny’s catchphrase, “Flame on!” was a signal that his powers were about to ignite, and nothing could stop him. Well, almost nothing.

Even as a superhero, Johnny had his vulnerabilities. If he got wet, his flame would go out, leaving him powerless. His impulsive nature and hot temper also got him into trouble. Sometimes his flaming personality would cause problems that his power couldn’t fix.
