Should we also honor those who have died for Christ on Memorial Day?
Who will you honor on Memorial Day this year? There are few people more deeply affected by the meaning of Memorial Day than those who have lost a brother or sister to the horrors of war. Do you or your church ever take a moment to reflect upon and honor our brothers and sisters in Christ who have lost their lives in service of the faith? I have been to a lot of church services on Memorial Day, but rarely have I ever seen that done. Maybe we should.
This Memorial Day, as we honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, why not take a moment to remember our brothers and sisters in Christ who have died for their faith. Their courage and dedication remind us of the true cost of discipleship and inspire us to stand firm in our beliefs. By expanding our tradition to include these fallen soldiers of faith, we honor their legacy and remember their sacrifice.
