The Greatest Message

Bible reading for today’s article: Matthew 5-7

Jesus was the greatest teacher that ever lived on the face of the earth. Despite all of the amazing accomplishments that we have made in over 2000 years since, teaching has never surpassed the excellence that Christ demonstrated in the 1st century. The Sermon on the Mount was his masterwork. In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus was pointing us towards a miracle that he was in the process of creating, laying out a road map that we could use to get there after his work was complete.

Before we explore the sermon in greater detail, we need to take a closer look at what Jesus actually did that this message was pointing to.

When Jesus hung on the cross, he held the Kingdom of Heaven and the spiritual kingdom of the earth in each of his hands. Through the mercy of his heart and the power of his spirit he pulled the two together and, in the overlap, He set a golden stitch.
