But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. - 2 Corinthians 4:7
Christian Soldier 21 is about mission. Each of us has a mission. I'm sharing how God helped me find mine, in hope that it helps you find yours. Join me for the journey.
God has brought me through and out of some painfully low, and dangerously high places. In this Substack I am writing content that, in part, will be the source material for a book that will tell that story and how thankful I am to be ending it well. Christian Soldier 21 is about helping Christians of all kinds and backgrounds find God’s will and live Coram Deo. What does Coram Deo mean? It is a Latin phrase used to describe living “In the presence of God.”
What’s Here
Most essays here offer a devotional theme. Some are immersive Bible study topics. Christian book summaries are offered monthly.
The devotional essays focus on the choices we make, the actions we take and standing firm in the spiritual warfare of 21st century America. Bible studies delve into topical passages that are relevant to real world issues. Notes offer Christian quotes, personal reflections and occasional links to writing that inspires me.
When I Publish and Post
Right now, I publish new essays about once a week, on or near the weekend. I send new posts in a weekly email to subscribers. I also send short form quick devotionals to subscribers on Wednesday mornings. As paid subscriptions grow, I will add new features and content.
Why Write This Substack and a Book?
My hope is to offer a perspective that redefines what it means to be a Christian Soldier in our conflicted world, one that will inspire Christians living in 21st century America to unite in our core mission of spreading the gospel message through living like Christ. Hopefully, out of that effort a remnant of strong, Spirit filled peacemakers will emerge to lead the next generation of Christian Soldiers into the future.
Thank You for Reading All of This
It would be my honor to have you with me as I work to put together a book and share my personal witness to the glory of God and serve His kingdom in the way He has provided. I invite you to join me on this mission by clicking on the subscribe button. It’s free!
Free Subscriptions
Most new and recent posts on this website are included with free subscriptions. My reason for doing this is a passion to serve God and his kingdom. Free subscriptions help promote my work here by increasing the ranking and visibility in the Substack community and on Internet search engines.
Paid Subscriptions
Older posts and full access to content are for paid subscribers only. Paid subscriptions allow me to spend more time here instead of on other projects. Future plans include Christian book summaries and discipleship study. Your support is what will determine if and when those things happen.
Taste and See If It Is Good
If you subscribe and later decide you no longer want to receive emails, unsubscribing is easy, and I won’t ever use your email again. I will never share or sell your email. So, join our group at Christian Soldier 21 to see what’s next on our journey into spiritual growth and Christian living in the 21st century!

Thank you for this beautiful testimony in advance of your work. I am your subscriber too and it is nice to get to know someone across the pond from Germany, because we are common soldiers of the Lord and I would be glad if we inspire each other. So I have developed many spiritual abilities through my service to the Lord through his inspiration, which I am also happy to share with you.
