You Love Me Anyway

The Choices collection – October 29th, 2020 (7-minute read)

In this article we will look at the most important choice that we need to make in life. The best way I know of to approach this topic is through relating a personal story.

The memory is crystal clear, even though it was a decade ago. I was at home, setting at the bar, surfing the cable music channels on the TV across the room. After clicking through what seemed like dozens of disappointing options, I set down the remote to get something to drink. The song that is the title of this article “You Love Me Anyway” by the band Sidewalk Prophets began playing and it caught my attention. The lyrics slowly wove a story of bad choices and a troubled soul that seemed all too familiar.

The 2009 recession had abruptly ended a successful business that I had grown from scratch over the preceding 24 years.
